We recently welcomed 13 participants from around the world and an expert coach from Cirque du Soleil for their first NexGen training workshop in the U.K. NexGen is Cirque du Soleil’s talent development programme. Cirque du Soleil has partnered with seven facilities around the world to host NexGen training workshops and Prime Acrobatics is proud to be the first partner in the U.K.
Participants applied to Cirque du Soleil’s Casting department to take part. Candidates were selected from across the U.K. as well as France, Finland, Canada, America and Australia. The training was run by Emmanuel Jacquinot, who has over 20 years of experience coaching at Cirque du Soleil. He has contributed to many of their famous shows around the world and has worked with Prime Acrobatics Director Chris Bowler and Operations Executive Matte Hart during their time coaching with Cirque du Soleil.
Training took place across six days and provided an introduction to Russian cradle, Russian swing and hoop diving. The workshop also provided a valuable opportunity for senior Prime coaches to shadow the training sessions and learn.
It was a wonderful week full of new connections and exchanges. Hosting the workshop allowed us to test and validate the equipment in our brand-new centre ahead of our September opening. Classes for children at our Camberley facility launch on 4th September. Please get in touch to find out more.
